For you if you live outside the United States and want to buy a rental or investment property in Florida or Texas.
How it works
You do not need to live in the U.S. or have a Social Security Number. A foreign national is simply a buyer who is not a U.S. citizen or resident.
Instead of a U.S. credit score, this program can look at your credit history from your country, reference letters from your bank back home, and proof of your income abroad.
It is a common way for buyers in Latin America or Europe to own rental property here, without first building a financial life in the U.S.
What you’ll need
- Your valid passport.
- Your credit history or credit report from your country.
- A reference letter from your bank.
- Proof of your income abroad.
- Bank statements that show the money for your down payment and closing costs.
Good to know
- Bigger down payment. You put down a lot more than on a loan for a home you live in.
- Investment property only. This is for a rental or investment, not your own home. If you plan to live in it, the path is different, and we will tell you straight.
- Every case is different. We review yours one by one, and it is subject to approval.
